The Metalworking Group is moving ahead in 2006 with some exciting plans for the future. Early in the year, we added three new machining centers to replace and supplement our capabilities in the machine shop. Two of the machines are Mazak Nexus 510C CNC Vertical machining centers with flexible quick set-up features and 12000 RPM speed. We also added a new Haas VF-7 vertical machining center with Fanuc controls that has 84” of travel in the X-axis. The extra length gives us the ability to machine parts that we could not manufacture in the past. The new equipment in machining represents over $500,000 in capital equipment investment to better serve our customer requirements. In September, the Metalworking Group had a new Cincinnati Incorporated CL7-A Laser installed in our metal fabrication department. This laser has a 3300-watt slab resonator with auto-focus operation and high-speed cutting. The laser provides superior edge condition on many types of material. The CI Laser will cut mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum with ease. Metalworking Group has significantly increased its laser cutting capacity by adding the CL7-A to our fabrication department. Combining our machining centers with the new laser, MWG has invested over $1 million in capital equipment for 2006. The Metalworking Group continues to grow in a very competitive global market. In 2005, the Cincinnati USA Partnership for Economic Development recognized us, as a “Growth Company.” We, also, received a Quantum Leap Award from one of our key customers for rapid acceleration of value and customer satisfaction in late 2005. We are growing and investing in The Metalworking Group to support our customers for the coming years.
